I currently represent 18 victims of clergy sexual abuse in lawsuits against the Catholic Church. The news piece aired after I filed ten of those law suits in early / mid June 2013. The pattern of behavior we uncovered from the first few cases was that the Church would find out its priest was sexually abusing children; the priest would be quickly removed from the parish and re-assigned to a different parish in a different geographic region. I also believe we uncovered a systematic attempt to re-assign pedophile priests to poor neighborhoods. We found that rarely, if ever, would a pedophile priest be reassigned to a church in a more affluent neighborhood. The first case was scheduled to start trial in February 2014, unfortunately we were never able to test our theories and evidence to a jury because the Catholic Church filed Bankruptcy on November 12, 2013. I am currently in bankruptcy litigation with the Catholic Church waiting for the church to liquidate assets to pay my clients. We are schedule for mediation in June / July 2015.
